What was the purpose of the liquid Robert Neville sprays on his steps at the beg!


Question: it is amonia, there is a deleted scene where it is explained, it throws off his scent so the zombies cant track him to his doorstep.

I think it was vinegar and it was used to repel the animals. It keep the animals away and might keep away the infected people too. not sure though.

I wondered that too! I just saw it today. I think may have been water so they'd slip if they tried to come near the steps? Or some repellent type spray? Good question...

Woah I was way off, while watching the movie, I had though it was gasoline that he could light up if the 'creatures' came by. But I guess the other posters above me saw some deleted scenes and that it was really to throw of his scent.

idk i was trying to figure that out too. but i think to keep away animals and infected ppl. :D it was a awsome movie though.
