I wouldn't. I would just keep them on discs so you can watch them when you want without taking up a lot of hard disk space, this will make your computer play them faster too.

Just keep your DVDs in good condition and cased.

If you still do want to put them on your hard drive then I'm not sure how to do it, maybe by copying the file(s) from the DVD into a folder, that should make you have some type of movie file that will play in quicktime even after you take out the DVD.
