I loved it. In fact, if there was a word stronger than "love", I'd use THAT word to describe my enjoyment.

It was visually stunning, emotionally captivating, musically wondrous, brilliantly directed, and is one of Depp's finest performances to date.

It WAS really violent, but only during certain parts. The gore was by no means continual. I won't spoil anything by going any further into detail.

I did enjoy Depp's voice very much, though a lot of "seasoned" Broadway fans complained that he didn't have the kind of quality in his voice they're used to, but he did hold his own rather nicely for an untrained singer. Thankfully, ignorance is bliss, and being unaware of how "inferior" he is in comparison to Broadway crooners, I thought he did spectacularly well.

Helena was brilliant, naturally, and took the character to all new places that worked absolutely perfectly for the film. And of course she looked smashing doing it!

    • It's very GREAT! It is very gory but fake blood. Also, there is a scene where someone is lit on fire and it's pretty graphic and disturbing. I too like the work of Johnny and I LOVE Helena (beautiful, fun, and a great actress.) See this movie as quickly as possible!

    Very, very good movie. Pretty gory, but you probably will know that it is fake. But it was really good...even though I'm not a big fan of musicals.
