Sounds like "Blue Lagoon", but that was much earlier than the 90's.
There was "The Blue Lagoon" in the eighties and its sequel "Return to the Blue Lagoon" in the nineties.

Early 80's and it is a pretty crappy film, but the bit where she has a baby is quite funny because they don't have a clue why she is so fat, and then why a baby comes out!
There several editions of that film already in the '40's with Jean Simmons, in the 80's with Brooke Shields and then still a continuation of it(with other actors) end 80's.
