Sweeney Todd question *spoilers*?!

Question: So when Mrs. Lovett locked Toby in the baking room, why did she do it? Did she want to save him or kill him? Because it seemed like she was more maternal to him.

Answers: So when Mrs. Lovett locked Toby in the baking room, why did she do it? Did she want to save him or kill him? Because it seemed like she was more maternal to him.

She did it because she was worried that he'd "figured her out" and that he was going to run to the law and get her into major trouble for the "content" in her meat pies. She WAS kind of maternal towards him, but in the end, she cared more about saving her business than she cared about him.

If you'll notice, she finally stops preventing Todd from attempting to "off" Toby. While they're searching for him, Todd very obviously is carrying his razor with the intent to remove Toby as a liability. Mrs. Lovett at that point is willing to let Toby die for the sake of keeping her pie business "alive", so to speak.

What?!?

I HAVENT WATCHED IT YET IT LOOKS WEIRD THOUGH A SCARY MUSICAL.

She knew that Toby figured out Todd was dangerous, so she wanted Todd to take care of him.

Merry Xmas!

He saw the purse with the money from the barber he use to work for. He already knew Sweeney was bad and he was going to end up putting two and two together so she just locked him up.
