Question: What exactly is the movie cloverfield about and if it is a monster movie then does anybody have a clear cut picture of what it looks like and how come we are creating a new monster when we have king kong and we could just promote him just like japan promotes godzilla?

it is a monster movie. i think they are not showing us because they want you to get really curious about it so you go see it. and how do you know it's a new monster?
