Are you tired of remakes of Japanese Horror movies?!

Question: The Japanese horror movies were not scary at all. Its a different culture so the remakes are different. I liked the Ring and the Grudge but the Japanese originals were just weird.

no

Yeah especially when the movies they are remaking wern't that good in the first place.

nope..but with the hair thing yes

NO ARE YOU KIDDING THERES NONE WITH KEVIN RUDD IN THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no actually i think that the are funny and have in a lot of action

what im tired of are the remakes of OUR classic movies that don't even get close to the spirit of the orginal, or when they just take titles already taken and are allowed to get away with it like with "running scared". come up with your own title!!

yes they are ******* **** as are the originals. no one makes good movies these days. and i hate the sequals, fukin oceans 100005 and american pie 56 and scary movie 800008. just quit whilst ur ahead

nope!!

no not at all.

GODZILLA MEETS BIG BIRD OR SOMTHING LIKE THAT, WAS GREAT. I DON'T THINK IT WAS A REMAKE THOUGH

Im not, I feel that they are bringing in a different look on society. I mean, American movies have become predictable, and (almost) always have horrible unrealistic endings. On the other hand, the Japanese movies dont always have a positive and happy ending. It is more realistic. Also, they dont rely on effects to make them creepy, they rely on basic thematic elements and have a deeper look into what shakes people up. The only Japanese remake that I really didnt like was Pulse. The Japanese one was done so well, but the American version... they just messed that one up.

Hey! They're better than remakes of old tv shows. But Japanese horror is pretty lame. The cultural takes on the genres don't translate well. They should do more remakes of Samurai films. The Ronin and the Gunslinger are pretty much the same archetype. And they resonate in both cultures. Japanese Film Noir could also spark a comeback for the Genre in the West.

We also need a new generation of Kaiju Flicks, based not on fears of The Bomb, like the old school, but more centered on the modern nightmares of Terrorism, Globalization and Cultural Genocide, (more of a fear in Japan, more of a reality in the US, thanks to "Political Correctness",(ala Star Trek's Borg,) and Chinese Expansionism.
