Have you ever seen that old movie "The Song of Bernedette"?!

Question: What did you think of it?
And how did it make you feel after seeing it?

I loved that movie with Jennifer Jones....her innocents in the movie was awesome. It was based on a true story of her account of seeing 18 miraculous visions of the Virgin Mary near her home village of Lourdes in 1858. I remember in the 60s watching it with my family on FAMILY CLASSICS that came on on Sunday. I forgot all about that until I seen your question.....wonder why you don't see it played today like you did back than because it is definitely a family movie and is better than most of the the crazy crap on t.v. Thanks for the memory

Yea, good movie.

I love that movie! I liked Elizabeth Taylor before she got all sleezy:) oh, I still like her anyway, Saint Bernadette was a remarkable person huh?

Jennifer Jones, not Elizabeth Taylor, starred in "The Song of Bernadette"~just to clear up a bit of confusion.

Yes, I've seen the film many times and always enjoy it. How does it make me feel? It doesn't affect me in any special way actually. I simply admire the cast, settings, script, music, etc.~a finely-made film about a mystical incident. I appreciate it as any film buff would. But, it isn't awe-inspiring for me, if that's what you mean. It's Hollywood being sort of religious; they resisted throwing anything else into the mix, as often is done.

TRIVIA: Linda Darnell played the Virgin Mary~under lots of protest.

TRIVIA 2: It says "Introducing Jennifer Jones", but this isn't her first film. Previously, she was listed by her real name: Phyllis Isley. She married Robert Walker, and their son, Robert Walker (Jr.) has been acting since the Sixties. You should read the scandalous story of what happened between her and David O. Selznick, actions that resulted in the death of Robert Walker. The poster refers to Elizabeth Taylor as "sleazy", but if that person knew the truth about "JJ". Under Selznick's guidance, she went on to play some sleazy roles, including Pearl in "Duel in the Sun", in which she delivers the memorable line: "I'm just trash! Trash! Trash! Trash! Trash! Trash!" Don't mistake a role for the actress; Jennifer Jones/Phyllis Isley was NOT Bernadette by any means.
