All ready some great answers. Let me add 'Angle Heart', Donny Darko, Brazil.

the new one coming out is called funny games i think, its an american remake of an ... i think austrian movie about two teenagers who basically hold a family captive in their own home and torture them. havent seen it, but i also like the same type of movie and it appealled to me. look up funny games trailer on the quicktime website to see.

se7en is a great movie. maaaaan when the sloth guy woke up and started choking, i almost sh1t me a brick.

silence of the lambs, red dragon are good. havent seen hannibal.

you can look up the top 20 most controversial moviues of all time if you want. theres some pretty weird ones, but from what ive seen nothing too interesting, just messed up in one way or another. did you know aladdin is on there cuz the arabs have got beef with jasmine wearing revealing clothes. it misrepresents their lack of culture apparently.

you should watch the show dexter, it trumps any movie ive ever seen. hes a serial killer with a code, and a csi by day. its narrated from his point of view which is nice.

maybe david cronenbergs crash. thats got some interesting psychological aspects.

Inland Empire by David Lynch. It's like one big nightmare, but in an intriguing and exciting kind of way.

Mulholland Drive, by Lynch as well, is also pretty good.

Oh, and if you want to see something REALLY messed up, watch Tideland (directed by Terry Gilliam). I hated the movie, but it might be your cup of tea.

My brother found Todd Hayne's "Poison" pretty disturbing. Don't eat hotdogs while watching it, though.
