Can my 19 year old brother take me to see Sweeney Todd, an R rated movie?!

Question: We live in Kentucky, and we both really want to see Sweeney Todd. My mom would let me go, but we didn't know if he was old enough. I'm 15, can pass for a 17 year old if needed, but I didn't want to lie.

I don't know if the rules change state to state. But in NY I know you have to be 21 to take a minor to an R rated movie. My friend and I (both 18 at the time) went to see an R rated movie. SHe had forgotten her ID so I thought I could get us both in with mine but the person said I had to be 21 to buy us both tickets. Jeez don't those people have anything better to do.

But a lot of the time they don't even check ID so you might get lucky.

They check IDs now. No ID, no movie. sorry.

you have to have an ID, even if you look old enough they still have to check your ID
