What's in the FedEx box that Tom Hanks never opens in Castaway?!

Question: What do you think? Or wish? Or imagine?

Mija I think it was just a shirt or something small and trivial...... but, it was his last link to humanity thus more valuable then diamonds ! Merry xmas !

A satellite phone with extra batteries.

a flare gun and a radio transmitter

CRACK

I always thought it was a beautiful work of art out of metal (since it comes from a woman who makes metallic artwork).

you just finished watching Cast Away on TNT didn't you? Cool movie

hehe at answer 1, that would make the whole saving the gift thing so ironic wouldn't it? You'd be LIK F*CCK!

a bunch of survival gear, flares, instant food, bait, fishing rod, gun, raft, radio >=)

IT WAS A PIECE OF ART WORK

Set of blueprints for the next piece of welded trash art being requested for some corporate lobby. That's the likely choice since it was going to the welder.

Had it been a comedy, he'd have dropped it at his welcome home party and a satellite navigation beacon would have fallen out and started pinging.

Something to do with Bettina, from the drawing on the box.

Satellite Phone, box of matches, antibiotics, anbesol, protein pills, first aid kit, and a fishing pole.

baby wipes

Hi Annamarie V,

I think Aloha girl is only half right...

It is a cool movie but, I'll never believe that a person who
...survives an airplane crash...
...during a hurricane...
...in the middle of the ocean...
...at night...
...and is conveniently washed up onto an island...
...yet NEVER once utters: "THANK YOU JESUS!"...
...is someone who is credible or deserves to find just a satellite phone...

...so it probably contains a satellite phone and the book of common prayers...

...now that would be an entertaining lesson in irony and morality for the modern age.

u r sweet if u do.

the box of gold from pulp fiction.

Some moderate piece of art. It's called a MacGuffin.

A plot devices that it is not important to which it specifically is. Anything that serves as a motivation will do. The MacGuffin might even be ambiguous. Its importance is accepted by the story's characters, but it does not actually have any effect on the story. It can be generic or left open to interpretation.

Just like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. It is something importantant but not neccassery to explain.

i think that the content is not important as the meaning of the box did on the whole movie, the box represented HOPE for the character...

but if you insist i think it's really a painting!!!!!
