Question: I just read today that they are going to do it, but it probably won't start filming until at least 2008, which means that the release would be in 2009 or 2010. It would be a natural for summer release, but I'm guessing it will come out late in the year like the Lord of the Rings trilogy did.

Thank God they finally agreed to it. It will be a two part prequel
Its looks like they are shooting for a 2009 release but nothing else is listed yet .
