Anime fans, can I get some recommendations for good Anime movies for my mature 1!

I would suggest other movies by Miyazaki. I loved the Cat Returns, My Neighbor Totoro, Laputa (aka Castle in the Clouds), Kiki's Delivery Service, and Howl's Moving Castle. There are others that Miyazaki has done and I can't remember them at the moment, but they are all so cool and beautiful. A good website for anime information is animenewsnetwork.com. It has an encyclopedia of a ton of anime.

princess mononoke: has claire daines in it.. its actually a really mainstream movie, but it does have some blood shed in it and it's about war. but it tells people to take care of the environment in it's round-a-bout way.
look into the old sailor moon series.. there are lots.. sailor moon is the heroine. but her alter ego is a shy young girl.
theres also project a-ko, and bubble gum crisis... battle athletes victory, magic knight rayearth, ... card captor sakura...
chance pop session, rouroni kenshin (the cartoon one) -- the other one kenshin or Samurai X is really adult, but it rounds out the story of rouroni kenshin perfectly.. its really sad tho. evangelion, E.V.A., DNAngel, full metal panic!, saiyuki.. but go to the website below for a full better list
