I have seen many documentaries on the MPAA, they MPAA is most strict about sex in movies, not violence. That is just how life goes, you gotta see what happens in order to be scared.
The studio may have had some influence there, too. Torture porno?
Because the people who rate movies have it all backwards. They rate sexuality in movies much more harshly than violence, even though most people agree that one is good and the other is horrible.
It's one of the reasons why the movie ratings system just simply doesn't work: it's not in line with the values of most people.
