Things I need to know about writing a script for a movie?!

Question: I know this probably sounds dumb, but I really want to write a script for a movie. One idea I have I cannot get it out of my head. The only thing is, I was wondering who I would send it to, how would i send it to him/her and can people who haven't been to collage or started high school yet write a movie?

I'm 14 years old. I know some websites that let ages 13-18 try out for contests on stories and possibly have it published and out in bookstores, but I really want to write a movie script and have it become a movie.

So any help/ideas/tips are welcome!
Thank you.

You need to write the screenplay yourself. Seriously. Familiarize yourself with the craft and find online resources that will help you with formatting questions, etc. Write it first. Worry about how to market it later.

Here are a few places to start:

http://www.oscars.org/nicholl/format.htm... - tells you about format

http://www.oscars.org/nicholl/bibliograp... - bibliography of screenwriting books. Many of them are available in libraries. Start with Dave Trottier's screenwriting bible, anything by Linda Segar or Syd Field. Buy as many of them as you can get your hands on (eBay, etc.) so you can write in them and dog-ear pages.

http://www.creativescreenwriting.com/ind... - awesome magazine. Subscribe to the print, the emails, and the podcasts. Doesn't get better than this. The podcasts with screenwriters are a fount of information.

http://www.davetrottier.com/ - Dave Trottier's website offers online screenwriting courses.
