In a scary movie how come the black guy/girl always dies first?!

Question: ??? im not even black and i think that is unfair

Answers: ??? im not even black and i think that is unfair

That is not at all true! I actually made a very long list to prove that it isn't so. I'm not sure why this persists because so many films have a black person being the only survivor. You don't hear protests about that! So, maybe you had better watch those films again and see what I mean.

If I can find my list, I will place it here to prove my point. I'll start one to see how many SF/fantasy/horror movies I recall in which the black character either survives or dies after others have though I won't list all of the names:
Alien vs. Predator~Sanaa Latham is the ONLY human being who survives!
Anaconda
Anacondas: Hunt for the Black Orchid
Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy
Thir13en Ghosts (2001)~Rah Digga
Night of the Living Dead~Tony Todd survives to the end though he's mistaken for a zombie.
Night of the Living Dead~Duane Jones survives to the end though he's mistaken for a zombie.
The Fog (2005)
Candyman~Tony Todd as Candyman survives for the sequels.
Pulse (2006)
The Stand (TV miniseries)
Poltergeist
Scream 2
The Beastmaster
Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight
Voodoo Moon (TV movie)
Mindhunters
Deep Rising
Predator
Predator 2
Alien
Aliens
Alien 3
Alien Resurrection
Urban Legend
Urban Legends: Final Cut
It (TV miniseries)
Ganja & Hess
Jaws: The Revenge
Beware! The Blob aka Son of the Blob
Night of the Cobra Woman
Black Mamba
The Mummy Returns
King Kong (original b&w)
King Kong (Peter Jackson remake)
Deep Blue Sea
The Bermuda Depths
House of Wax (remake)
Live & Let Die~I have to mention Geoffrey Holder as the Baron, who has the last laugh.
Blacula~It is his decision to (supposedly) end his life, but he rises for the sequel.
Scream Blacula Scream
Gothika
Terminator
Terminator 2
Leviathan
Santa's Slay
Phantoms
King of the Zombies
I Walked With a Zombie

Fallen~Denzel Washington's character kills himself in the hopes of stopping the demon, unaware that Azazel can transfer to an animal.
The Supernaturals
From Dusk TIll Dawn
From Dusk TIll Dawn 3 (I haven't seen the second one.)
The Omega Man
I Am Legend~Will Smith
I, Robot
The World, the Flesh & the Devil~One of the last three people left in the series is a black man who does not get killed off!

Bad Dreams (1988)
The People Under the Stairs
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Q aka The Winged Serpent

These movies date from more than 60 years ago to 2007, and I know there are many I've left off the list that others will recall. Who says the black actor gets killed first or doesn't make it to the end of the film?! I might remember more after a few hours of sleep.

Why is that not fair? It's called affirmative action.

I haven't seen this as a rule in any of the movies I've seen. Perhaps you need to watch more horror movies, so that you'll have something to compare the one movie to. Throw out the names of all the movies you're referring to before making a statement like that. You should be able to back up what you say with hard evidence.

It's the whole "token black guy" thing. Sometimes the ditsy blonde dies first.

Watch "House on Haunted Hill". The "token black guy" survives.

Because it's in the script and they wanted it that way?!?

Not really, in Night of the Living Dead 1968, a black guy is the sole survivor but died in the end at the white man shotgun cause he's black. Human is more scarier than zombie, you just don't know what to expect.

movie politics

maybe they want to get rid of their character right away because they have other movies to make....they are busy individuals because there are not that many black actors/actresses in hollywood.

l don't agree on this as l have watched films were the white actors die first.
Some people are just too sensitive.

Snakes On A Plane, Samuel Jackson lives
