The Battle of Britain is my top WW2 film. I watch it regularly! Next would probably be the DamBusters.

I agree The Dirty Dozen is great. I also like John Wayne's The Longest Day(?) about the D-Day invasion, Saving Private Ryan, and although it's a musical South Pacific is great. Even though it's about Vietnam and not a world war "The Deer Hunter" is one of my favorite flicks...
Its got to be heimat-the german film.

There is one I seen in black and white one time about the germans and the italians and it was subtitled as well, this movie was awesome. Alot of action. I'm sad though I cannot remember the name of it.
Another one I like is one about the koreans and the chinese, its called Tae Guk Gi. Has more action in it than saving private ryan.
Whenever saving private ryan is on, I always watch the first half hour of it cranked up on the surround sound. Its amazing.

a film called TRIUMPH OF THE SPIRIT true story based on a polish boxer that had to fight in the concentration camps with other prisoners the winner was allowed to live staring daniel defoe just got it on dvd from hmv.com also another one is THE MUSIC BOX about a father and daughter the daughter has to defend her father in court after being accused of being a war criminal

Saving Private Ryan - great cast, great director, great film and its one of only a few films where the protagonist dies

Donald Sutherland is brilliant in it.
This isn't strictly a film, but the "Band of Brothers" series was amazing. It gets my vote.
