Stanley Kubrik was the best director. He was a creative genius.

I like Scorcese's movies.

peter jackson because he did the best job on lord of the rings
people thought it wouldn't be possible for it to be as good as it was

Perhaps the greatest American director of all time was John Ford. He may actually be the best........period. All you have to do is watch his films and you'll see for yourself. He was a master of camera angles and using the horizon in his scenic shots.

Steve Spielberg has to be the best modern story teller of our generation. His films are beautiful regardless of the topic. He is also a top screenwriter as well.

There are several great directors but it's really a matter of taste. You can't go wrong with the two I've mentioned.

I think Steven Spielberg is the best director. He has made a number of great films like Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and many others. Best director in my opinion.

george clooney because he makes crappy movies look good.

In my opinion, the best modern film writers/directors are Kevin Smith and the Coen brothers. They have "witty banter" down to a science. My friends and I are constantly quoting lines from their movies because they are so memorable.

Best director: Michael Curtiz. He could direct any kind of film
-- and did. Action ("Adventures of Robin Hood"), romance
("Casablanca"), western ("Comancheros"), etc., etc. His
body of work was phenomenal.
