Golden Compass: movie vs. book?!

Question: I am intrigued by the story just from the movie previews, they're what made me want to read the book in the first place. Obviously no movie is ever as good as the book and certainly not better, but what i want to know is if the movie experience is more enjoyable having read the book first OR afterward. (Also: no spoilers please.) Thank you.

much more enjoyable to read sfterword i read the book first and all throughout the movie i was yelling to myself about the diffrences i drove my friend crazy and after the movie i was going on and on about the book compared to the movie i think if you dont want to be dissapionted then read the book after u see the movie i also dont agree with the 2 person because you dont have to compare movie with book and tha charecters are better developed in the book so there is still room for imagination

it would probably be better seeing it first it ends differently than the book it would be better if you didnt know the way it was supposed toreally end first

Its always better to read the book first because if you watch the movie first then when you read the book your always tryng to compare the characters to the ones you see in the movie and they may not live up to your expectations
