Shawshank Redemption as a Movie. "IT" as a book.
Ooooh it's tough - I'd either say Stand By Me ("The Body"), just because..How can you hate it?!
or the Shawshank Redemption ("Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption") because of the feel good factor that justice is done, and because of how clever the plot is and its twist.
Couldn't choose one, but they're both in my top 5 :-D
[edit] Oops, forgot - my favourite Stephen King book is Carrie. Didn't like the film adaptation though.

too many good books to choose from but id say it for the book and 50-50 on the green mile and shawshank
Hmm, tricky........especially as IMO the majority of the film versions of Stephen King's book have never been good enough.
I think Shawshank is great and I also love The Shining, but that more to do with Jack Nicholson than the actual screenplay.
My favourite Stephen King book is Christine.

Movie = The Shining, the original by Stanley Kubrick, not the crappy tv one.
Book = Desperation but the movie sucks
