Question: I'm writing a paper about the depiction of Brazilians in movies produced in Brazil and abroad...
What stereotypes are associated with Brazil? (As an American, what do you think of when you think of Brazil? If you're Brazilian, what stereotypes have you encountered?)
How are Brazilians depicted in American movies (amorous, Brazil is a get-away spot, Carmen Miranda films)?
How are Brazilians depicted in Brazilian movies (violent, sad movies)?

My husband lived in Brazil for 2 years so all my perceptions are based in his stories.
It's diverse, white, black, brown people.
Their is lots of fruit
They have street peddlers selling hot bread in the morning,
The buses are well used and if you can fit around the turn style you don't have to pay
When it rains the streets turn into sewage streams
There are ghettos with Dish TV with hi-jacked power, but its so dangerous even cops don't go there
They once "solved" the overpopulation of homeless kids by shooting them
There are beatles the size of birds
Gheckos kept in the house will eat the mosquitos
Huge roaches
Great soda, Guarana, its a green can with red berries
Pao de Queijo (cheese bread)
