Did you see the golden compass, is it good?!
Question: I watched it a couple of nights ago. It was excellent. Great plot line, good character development, great effects. Never read the books, but now I want to.
Though, I was kinda disappointed, cause I was looking for the 'horrible' anti x-tian message, and never saw it. The closest this movie comes to having anything to do with ANY religious message, is far fetched at best. If you look real hard, you can see a resemblance to the inquisition. With the bad guys being the x-tian church and all the children of the land being the persecuted.
But, if you watch the movie, forget all that stupid religious junk, and watch it to see a good movie. Because, it's really a great movie.

i read the first two books of the series, and am working on the last. they are very good. i havent seen the movie. but i'm sure its entertaining. its very educational and for those of us who do not follow superstition, but instead logic and reason.
Overall reviews give it a C. Beautiful to look at, but ultimately hollow

Yes. It's a good movie, but the books are so much better. You should read the books.
The books are all about free thought and worth reading.

I love the movie! The effects were great and the storyline was fun except they leave you hanging in the end for a sequel. Me and my friend loved the movie.
They say it's based on books but neither me nor him had read the books and we didn't seem to lose pace in any of the storyline.
I barely have time to watch TV and didn't know anything about Atheist or Anti-christian messages until I surfed the Internet afterward about the movie. I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING ANTI ANYTHING in the movie!
