This is kind of embarassing but E.T. scared me when I was little. I saw it in the theater when I was 5 and it scared the crap out of me. I still don't like that movie.

Candyman. I couldnt look @ mirrors for a week! And to make matters worse, I went into the bathroom @ school and someone turned out the lights (while I was still in stall) and said his name 3 times. That was a very scary moment because the bathroom was windowless and pitch black. Luckily, I wasnt alone in the bathroom and we all screamed and made our way to the door. I still shudder when I think of Candyman.

Ok there are a few movies that scared me when I was little. But I'm not a big fan of movies and was easily terrified...:)
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas- I just recently watched it (now that I'm older) and found it a little more disgusting at times rather than scary. But come on? Heads instead of presents? The Boogeyman instead of Santa? What's more scary?
2. Edward Scissorhands- I saw it on TV once when I was extremely little and the blackened make-up and the large blade-like fingers. Tim Burton is a creepy guy okay?
3. Toy Story- The part where they're in Sid's house and that spider/babydoll comes slithering out from under the bed is absolutely terrifying! All of Sid's toys are creepy!
4. Sleeping Beauty- the end of the movie with the big, loud, evil music and Malficent turning into a dragon was a little creepy, I must admit.
5. IT- I was a little scene from that movie and was scared out of my mind!!
closets/small places
I was grounded at 6yrs old and locked in the closet for 1 day I remeber crying and beggin for help and I was not allowed to eat or anything.Till this day at 23yrs old I leave my closet door closed and I dread going in there for clothes so I run back out.
Witches... It's about a bad witch that traps little children in pictures until they age and die, but a boy (who gets turned into a mouse) stops her with the help of others. Scared me when I was younger but now I like it. Go rent it.
The original movie INVADERS FROM MARS scared me quite a bit...mainly because the parents in it were taken over by the martians and they treated their son cruelly...plus they(the martians) had a habit of pulling people into their underground lair if they were near sand...I remember being afraid of going near the sandbox I had as a kid for awhile! It was quite a psychologically effective film for any kid who saw it back then. we had enough problems trusting authority already, but then this...hahahahaha...

ET scared the crap outta me as a little kid too! It was my sister's favorite movie and she watched it all the time. I guess it was the part when ET is hiding in the dark that got me since I lived in the middle of nowhere.
for some reason the blair witch project fucked me up for months, when i was 12 or 13. I saw it a few years later and i was like wtf this shits lame.
Lol. Nightmare On Elm Street did it for me. Never forget the line "Nancy, no running in the hallway". Still freaks me out to this day

Only thing that bothered me was stuff like the Sheriff John show and soap operas were especially terrifying made me go to school even when I was sick as a dog to get away from that crap { scared me because I figured if I began to like it I would become stupid ! } .
This terrible monster flick called "War of the Gargantuas" gave me nightmares for awhile when I was <5. For some reason, I got kinda bugged by the original "Poseidon Adventure" when I was in 5th grade or so (probably because I'm claustrophobic, and the idea of being trapped in little, water-filled spaces scares the crap out of me). In high school, "A Clockwork Orange" flipped me out with the sadistic nature of its violence.
(I also understand what you mean about Watership Down -- it was the black shadowy spirit rabbit with the empty eye sockets, right?)
'Dark Shadows' always scared the piss out of me. I was afraid one of the characters "Josette" was going to come down from the attic and get me.
