The mayor goes into a bit of a "shock" after Michael is placed in the hospital and another child dies. He keeps mumbling and muttering about "I did it for the good of the community"
Sheriff says something like, "Of course you did, and that's why you're going to sign this paper, for the good of the community." The paper is an agreement to pay to have the shark killed. The mayor signs and we don't see him again for the rest of the movie.
Stop asking people to do your work for you. If you have the time to piddle away online, then you have time to watch a movie and do your own work. Shame on you!
