when it came out i had to see it twice. it is the funniest thing i have seen. they just don't make movies like that anymore
my friend has it on dvd and was obsessed with it a few years back. ive only seen a bit of the start and it was pretty funny.... i think up to the bit with the quicksand. your right, its just a LITTLE racist.....
I love Blazing Saddles. It's wacky, original, and extremely funny. Lately it has seen a major dip in popularity, but I still think it is the best, or one of the best, Mel Brooks films ever. Yes, some of the humor could be considered offensive, but I don't think it was meant that way, and comedies still cross the line today, a lot more. I'm unsure what you mean by "get away with". Do you mean because of the unpopularity of it, or humor, or something else?
