I haven't seen the movie yet, but I listen to our local Christian radio station on the way to work and this morning a woman had called in telling about this movie. She won tickets for the premier and was in tears...yea she was crying on the radio stating that the children are possessed with demons and are trying to take over the world and that the good guys are trying to get all the children to a safe place to extradite the demons but in doing so will kill the children. I also heard a scant bit about killing God.

It has my curiosity peaked. It's just another way for society to rid us of anything to do with God and godly ways...just from what I heard this morning and now your yahoo question, I don't want to see it nor have my kids either.

P.S. CS Lewis who wrote Chronicles of Narnia used to be an atheist until he found Christ...

i think it is true...that is the same thing people keep telling me.

i dont know about the adam and eve part but the man who wrote it did not like god.

phillip pullman is an athiest.

"Pullman said in an interview, “My books are about killing God. …If we're talking on the scale of human life and the things we see around us, I'm an atheist. There's no God here. There never was. But if you go out into the vastness of space, well, I'm not so sure. On that level, I'm an agnostic.” [Steve Meacham, “The Shed Where God Died,” The Syndney Morning Herald (December 12, 2003).]"

YEA!! IT"S VERY TRUE!!! I STRONGLY ERG YOU NOT TO WATCH IT.....
You see what there tryig to do is get you to watch the movie by saying it's simalar to the cronicals of narnia and stuff accually it's the oposite!! The author of the books was strongly against cs lewis and wrote the books because he hated him so much....The author was an athiest and wanted to kill God yes...He said it him self..

Phil Pullman is a weird dude.

Yea I'm not gonna watch or support a movie that I've heard everywhere is about killing God at the end of the trilogy.
I think its an attempt to get to our children while they are impressionable by big budget and fancy graphics.

Look it up yourself and learn about this latest attempt by the Godless in Hollywood to preach that its aok to do whatever you want.

Yes he is an atheist. But it is just a movie and just some books. If your( and i dont mean you specifically just in general so dont take offense) faith in God is so week that it could be influenced by something like that then you need to reassess how much you really be leave in God. Its the Same thing that Happened when The Davinci Code came out (witch ironically enough i just happen to be watching at the moment) The Church wants us not to see the movies that make us think or to maybe question. This is a fictional Movie about a fictional Book with a fictional "Church". As for 'Killing God" it is not meant in the literal sense he wants ppl to question their faith in the Church and in general. But your faith is yours and no one else and no can or nothing can make you question that. I will go see the movie and I'm sure I will enjoy the movie for what it is....entertainment and nothing more and if I like it enough I might even real the books.

Newspapers say that Phillip Pullman's books have a strong anti-religious subtext going on.

In recent years, C.S.Lewis's Narnia series, has been highly criticised for its strong Christian subtext.

Only way to test these opinions out is to read the books and see the film for yourself.

Good lord...are all these people honestly so weak willed that they are frightened of being swayed by a childrens film? Seriously, if your faith in whatever is so lukewarm that you think if you watch a film you will forsake your religion, you have some serious soul searching to do. I plan on seeing the film because I enjoyed the book. I'm not affiliated with any religion, however I'm respectful of others. Much of the rumors are true. But I think you should be able to watch a film and not make drastic life changes because of a heavily veiled underlying plot line.
