Question: ... to be movie stars? What I mean is, in order to be a big star, a big part of the moviewatchers have to feel you're hot, or you just won't be a star. I mean STAR, not working actor. Maybe not accepted as handsome or beautiful, but they have to have that certain something.

In order to be a star you have to be good looking to the point where people of your gender want to be like you and people of the opposite gender fantasize about how amazing it would be to date you!

No, I think if you're a good actor, they'll come to you. Heat is nice and all, but acting chops keep you employed.

Looks are important, but I think charisma is a bigger factor. There are movie stars who aren't that tradtionally hot looking, but they have that sparkle that makes them a star.

mostly yes but there are some actors who are not handsome and became stars .so sometimes i think it's more about the character,charisma ,talent and self confidence of the actor.
but few non handsome actors managed to be stars because some people are simply very shallow.
dana, what i think we are talking about is testerone. when it comes to men measured with the highest count, actor number one, doctors no.2 and lawyers number 3. these are all high power , high income jobs that takes lot of gut or as most say,b-lls. and people like this have to be right and believable in all parts of their lives. the rest of us poor guy just don't count for much except to the ones who just love us for who we are! bacondebaker
