Of all the actors who played Custer, which is your favorite?!

Question: I'm not much of an expert. I have always loved the way Richard Mulligan made a farce of Custer in "Little Big Man."

Definitely Mulligan in Little Big Man, one of my favorite Dustin Hoffman movies. Farce? Geez, I thought Custer WAS an egomaniac.

"Ah, you want me to THINK that you don't want me to go down there when the truth is you DON'T want me to go down there."

"I knew George Armstrong Custer for the no good yellow bellied dirty dog that he wuz."

  • None whose names I remember right off...but, I'd LOVE to see either George Segal, Richard Gere, The Rock, Vin Diesel, or that actor who played lead in
"Dances With Wolves"...by the way, since I raise wolves, that was NOT how you dance with a wolf!

Kevin Costner, that's it! But, I'd like to see him show a little facial expression this time!!!!!!!

Errol Flynn in "They Died With Their Boots On".
But, yes, Mulligan was extraordiary - and probably more true to life than any.

Yeah, Mulligan in Little Big Man. Thumbs up!

I agree with you 100%. As soon as I read the question, Mulligan's name popped right into my mind. Freakin' hilarious! I liked Robert Shaw's version as well. Errol Flynn's portrayal was a tad over the top. Is that an understatement?
