I believe it was 1989's Crimes & Misdemeanors. And the role of Prof. Louis Levy (the subject of Cliff Stern's documentary in this film) was played by non-actor and therapist friend of Woody's, world renowned Martin S. Bergmann, clinical professor of psychology of New York University post-doctoral program. Hope this helps.
