Another movie to check out? Besides 'Guess Who'?!

Question: I am in an interracial marriage and LOVED the movie 'Something New'. It makes me sad that there are not more television shows and movies that portray 'equal oppurtunity love'. Do you know of any other movies or TV shows I could check out?

"The Jeffersons" sitcom featured an interracial couple who generally made an appearance in every episode and sometimes were the focus of the story.

I also found listings for these series at one site: "Lincoln Heights", "ER," "Grey's Anatomy," "My Name is Earl," "Lost", "Scrubs" and "Will & Grace". The most famous series is "I Love Lucy" of course. "Lincoln Heights" is an hour-long drama; commercials for the series often focus on the teenage daughter's romance.

I don't know if these are successful couples or not since I haven't seen a number of these, but my search also brought up:
The Leading Man
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Mississippi Marsala
Made in America
Something New (2006)
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge
Alfie (2004)
Illegal in Blue
Foreign Student
Flirting
Zebrahead
Joey Breaker
Ballistic
The Bodyguard
Black Water (Julian Sands)
Liberty Heights
Taking the Heat
Prisoner of Love~Hmmm... I don't think this is a love story.
The Big Hit
Catwoman
Rich Man's Wife
Soul Man
West Side Story
Rent
The Joy Luck Club
The Josephine Baker Story
Boiler Room
Lackawanna Blues
To Sir, WIth Love

Roger Moore romances Grace Jones in "A View to a Kill" and actually seems more concerned about her than Tanya Roberts!

You need to see "Guess Who's Comming to Dinner?"

check out akira's hip hop shop (a new movie about an asian man and a black woman)... I haven't seen it myself, but have heard that it's good...

Different Strokes is about love. Love is Love not race of any sort.

Great Question! As an interracial man myself I always look for movies that deal with the subject matter. Two dramas that come to mind are Zebrahead and A Bronx Tale. If comedies are your thing you might want to check out Hitch with Will Smith or Napolean Dynamite, I guess one of the most controversial I can think of would be Monster's Ball. As far as TV goes there was a cute little interracial relationship between two characters in the latter seasons of Boy Meets World. You can still catch the reruns on Nick at Nite I believe.
