The Spiderman and Friends would be a good choice for a younder child. They were aimed towards the "pre-teen" group. The ones with Iceman and Firestar.
Also, if you can find any of the 1960 cartoon series, with the "Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman" theme, those are good ones to start with. They have the innocence that was still found in comics and cartoons at that time. They would be good for a three year old.

i think you should get him the pg-13 ones. they are pg-13 for a reason, but those are reasons he won't understand
but there are many tv series for kids on dvd
