Question: at the end of the movie, why does Gans (James Remar) act so surprised that he'd been shot? he says: "i don't believe it, i got shot!" as if bullets aren't supposed to hurt him.

Gans just thought he was Billy Bad A** - there's guys like that out there now; they think they can do anything to anyone without repercussions or consequences. And that was pretty much his mindset.
