Does anyone know what this movie is called?!
Question: There is this boy that is given a book while he is on his bed. I think he was grounded not sure. I think a lady gave him the book. Well while reading the book he gets sucked into it. The movie is like treasure island but it is not. On his journey he meets a mermaid that he comes friends with and turns into a human. Well he is searching for this gold. And he comes to a cave and thier is this stone henge statue sitting in front of the cave which comes alive and he has to fight. well he gets into the cave and I think its pirates that are after him.. well I think while he is in the cave it starts collapsing and he has to get out but the human mermaid turns back into the mermaid so he has to forget about the treasure and saves her.. I think the movie is disney and its over I think ten years old. Can anyone help I would be very appreciated. Thanks

at first i thought it was The neverending story but it doesnt have a mermaid character

I don't think there was a mermaid in the Neverending story and wasn't he at school?
Is it live action, animated or both?If it is both it could be The PageMaster. In that movie it starts out as live then goes to animated and he goes into stories such Treasure Island. Otherwise it does sound like Magic Island.
