I found a recording by Rosemary Clooney. The original recording is by Jimmy Dorsey, but it doesn't mention a band singer.

Well, I've checked, and I haven't solved the mystery of which version was played in the film, which I've seen parts of, obviously not the part where this song was played. Julie London and Jo Stafford had popular version that I remember very clearly. Was it a man or woman singing?
