Why does it seem like a movies going faster after the first time you've watc!


Question: like last night myself and a friend watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail...and it seemed to go sooo fast.

and then after that i watched where the heart is...that went really fast

why does it seem like a movie is going so much faster after the fact you have seen it before?

There are no surprises. It's the same reason the drive home seems faster than the drive away from home.

Because you know what will happen next.

Because your brain is anticipating what is coming next.

I think maybe because the first time you watch it you dont know what is going to happen.

Som ething else i notice..when you watch a film for a second time, you see scenes that you are SURE werent in the movie the first time, even though you sat and watched it all he way through. Then the third time, they're gone again...wierd...or just me ?

Because you already know how the story goes and your concentration is not on the movie anymore but more to see your favorite part of the movie and then, you're through!

Because u already know wats gonna happen, there's no suprises like the first time around.
