Why do we love romantic/ romantic comedies?!
Question: Ive been sitting here trying to find an answer mainly so that i can write a script for a film project that im working on. however everyone just says i love romantic films. No one ever explains the elements and the emotions and thoughts that drive us to love this genre as much as we do..and was wondering about your thoughts.

Maybe it is because we value love and can relate to stories about people in love (romantic love, but also love of family, love of friends, love of pets etc.), it makes us feel happy and re-affirms life amongst sadness, illness, war and death going on all the time, it is escapism (most people love a happy ending), laughter is good for you and some people just like watching the stories (romantic scenes). I don't think we should do your homework, but comedy romances make you feel good that life does exist like fairytales...somewhere!
idk maybe when people see them it as if they are feeling the samething the person in the movie is feeling and u ssee them go throught troubles but it still funny in that kind of im-in-trouble-but-im-still-laughing- kind off way i guess also bc it romantic love story and it makes u laugh so u feel good
Sometimes, life can be a real *****, and I guess such kind of movie can ease your burden for a while...if you're not suffering from an infatuation, that is.
Personally I love romantic movies because generally they end happily and real life doesn't always end happily. I like the feeling I get when I watch a love story and see them end up the together in the end.
