In the movie “Life as a House” there’s a line I don't understand?!

Question: In “Life as a House” there’s a scene where Jena Malone is rubbing sunscreen on Hayden Christensen’s back and she’s talking about not shaving her pits and legs this summer. Then there’s a line where she says “I mean …” which I can never understand. Does anyone know what it is? It’s one of my favorite movies and I’ve watched it many times but I can never get that line.

Do you mean you don't understand the meaning of what she is saying or you don't understand the words? If you are having trouble making out the words she is saying, you could put your DVD on cc (Closed Captioning) and the sound will mute and the words will appear. Then you can read what she is saying.
That movie was too sad for me to watch more than once.

she actually talked to Sam's dad about not shaving, when she put the lotion on Sam she asked him if he remembered her and that she used to wish their parents would get married, she also invited Sam to shower at her house since his dads shower was outside.

The script should be of help:
