For once Hollywood decided not to screw up a good movie by making a crappy sequel. I'm not going to complain about that. What could it have been about anyway? E.T. back on his home planet would have been boring and E.T. getting stuck on Earth again would have been redundant.
Stephen Spielberg, the man responsible for E. T., does not want to do one. Intellegent man that he is, he recognizes that he would not be able to top the original story. If you have ever seen any interviews or the A & E Biography, for Mr. Spielberg, this story was a labor of love (and yes he did make a ship load of money).
Unfortunately, that isn't to say that some producer/director that is imaginationally challenged won't think about making one, but they would have to pay me a ship load of money to go and see it.
