its a fantasy movie and evey step we take technologically in that direction makes people think that we'll be flying cars and using light sabers and using the force in the near future.
might as well ask y people compare our technology to startrek or alien, or battlestar.
Incase you havnt noticed, since all those things were released like 20 years ago, weve made huge advances towards making sci-fi fantasy a reality, and thats really quite impressive.
