Which is the more accurate movie: Troy, or Hellen of Troy?!
Question: Troy is an eye-candy loaded 'adaptation.' Helen of Troy is much, much more accurate and not as Hollywood and sudsy...even though that can be a good thing sometimes =)

Do you mean the mini-series "Helen of Troy", released a few years ago? If so, then "Helen of Troy" is DEFINITELY closer to the original historical accounts; it actually follows the story, as opposed to "Troy" which rewrote several key points. However, both are horribly inaccurate, in their own ways.
Never seen "Helen of Troy", but god I hope it's that one! if Troy was more historically accurate, the makers of "Helen of Troy" ought to be shot!
There are two Helen of Troy movies--one made back in the 50s and a made for TV version. The one for TV tried to make her the heroine and the main character; she was actually not in the book very often. Plus, the TV version portrayed Agammemnon as being obsessed with Helen, even to the point of raping her. None of the that is suggested in the book. Troy is certainly closer to the book than the TV version.

Haven't seen Helen of Troy but the Brad Pitt movie, Troy, is very inaccurate, for one, the war didn't just happen in days, it happened in years and the Pitt's character's "cousin" really wasn't his cousin in real life, historian believe he was either a really close friend or may have even been Achilles' lover as was common in that culture for an older man to take his young apprentice as more than a mentor.
It's difficult to argue any accuracy or inaccuracy considering the events surrounding it occurred nearly 28 centuries in the past. A great deal of information could be altered even from written documents in a span of time that long.
