No, she doesn't die. She almost dies but chooses to live at the last minute (she untangles herself from the piano and swims to the surface). When she talks about the piano being her coffin, it's in reference to how she still dreams of her piano being at the bottom of the ocean and how she almost went with it (possibly wishing she had gone through with the suicide).
