It was the first R rated movie I ever saw, at the age of 16, and my sister and I got grounded, cause she took me, and because I didn't tell her not to. We saw it at the drive in.
Oh the memories........my mom was still mad at me for seeing R rated movies, even when I was old enough to. (Got grounded for FAME, too. LOL)

It's one of the 'modern classics' that is enough a part of our common culture that it's a good idea to see it at least once, if only so you can get the references. It's also the kind of movie you need to watch all the way through beginning to end to truly appreciate.

did you know during the final taping of the movie where john travolta is wearing the white outfit and dancing, he had made a mistake (i can't remember what it was) and it became such a hit for disco music and dancing?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when it first came out in 1976, night after night, weekend after weekend; for 2 or 3 months!!!!!!
