I was watching the movie 300 on dvd on my 360, and why is the picture quality so!

because you are supposed to watch a theatrical movie on a large screen, if not in the theater, then letterboxed on a decent sized screen with surround. Unless a 360 is a big screen tv and then the reason would be a crappy transfer. Either way, see the big movies on the big screen
I think I know what you mean and it was intentional. The action at times did seem to have a stop/go quality. And the overall look of the film probably could be described as sandy. These are both intentional choices by the director, Zack Snyder. He wanted the movie to have a look and feel of a graphic novel. Look at it this way and you can see what he meant to do.
I agree with the above answerer to a point (without the yelling at you), it could be a bad transfer or disc.
