I HATED it. It was the most boring musical ever made.
i love hairspray!! i have it on dvd it came out wednesday!! well in the usa.
i loved it. lol but im a chick so i cant really help you with the chick flick argument.
its def. only for people who enjoy musicals though lol
of course it was a chick flick. Do u think a guy is going to sit threw that on his own? For me personally i love the original with ricky lake!!!!! But to each is own..
I just bought it and love it - my 5 and 3 yr old girls love it too- its not bad at all for a musical- its actually the only musical we own.
My 11 year old daughter loved it which means I've seen it several times. I think it was made too glossy and plays more like High School Musical than the orginal. It misses out on some of the grit and tension in the original Hairspray.
It's also more "girl meets boy, girl gets boy", than typical for chick flicks, but I see you're point.
I absoloutely loved it. I do think it leans more towards the female audience, and Ive heard that if u have seen it on Broadway, that the movie isnt as good. As for me, its one of my favorites.
no,i couldnt think of it cos i aint seen it,but ill take a guess,a giant can of hairspray trys to take over the world,until it sees seven of nine, she does a dance and wiggles her big bits,the hairspray cant take its eyes off her tight catsuit,meanwhile voyager fires a bolt like lightning and blows it up,but little do they all know it impregnated seven of nine,and it ends with her giving birth to multiple cans of hairspray,and they all say at once "we are the borgsprays resistance is futile"!!! ( no?)
