Its whatever you want it to be, there is no specific answer. It could be a traditional graduation gift like a watch, it could be the cellphone (I dont see that one at all). Its purpose is just to establish a father-son relationship between Frank and Collin. Its kinda like what they call in movies: a MacGuffin, a plot device that motivates the characters or advances the story, but has little or no actual relevance to the story. They chose not to show what it was to make you wonder. Frank's not really the kind of guy that would give a watch, but then what could it be? Who knows, its not important what he gave him, just the fact that he gave him something.
