Does anyone know what film this is?!
Question: I can't remember the title or which actors were in it. It's about this black woman and has a daughter (who's from mixed parentage). But the daughter always saw herself as a white woman and was ashamed of having a black mother. So the daughter ran away to become a dancer (and maybe a singer). The mother went looking for her, but eventually got tired and died. I think the daughter's name was Sarah-Jane and the mother's name was probably Annie. I know it's sounds like a sad and a racist film (must've been set during a racist period). But I saw this film nearly 10 years ago and it just came to my mind right of the blue. If anyone knows what this film is I would appreciate it, thank you in advance.
