Best sad movies and best indie films ever?!
Question: I have watched the notebook, I thought it was a good wrote movie, and the saddest movie I have ever seen.. Is there anything sadder then that movie? I want to know if a director can top that one? Also what are the greatest cult classic comedys or indie films that are classics. I am trying to bulk up my dvd collection that is already 500dvds deep however I need to make it more rich then it already is.

The movies 'My Life' with Micheal Keaton is by far one of the sadest movies I have ever seen. He is dying so he makes videos for his unborn son to watch. Another that I just saw last year was a Christmas film called 'A Christmas Blessing' or something like that. The cast includes Rob Lowe and the kid from 'Two and a Half Men'. It is a great movie but very sad.
Cult comedies are tough. They are hit or miss depending on the person. My favorite is 'Happy Gilmore.' The first time I saw that, I almost cried I was laughing so hard.
I like Love Story, Beaches and Splendor in the Grass for sad movies. I love to cry at sad movies. I think all of these are a must for any collection.
Pride and Prejudice(the newest one).
Across the Universe(when it releases in January).
I am Sam.
Unfaithful.
Moulin Rouge.
a walk to remember is deffinatly a sad one && there is another one with bridge of soemthings its like photography stuff and its really sad. but yeah check those out
I am Sam
I am Sam & Sweet November.
One of the saddest movies ever is The Champ starring Jon Voight & Ricky Schroeder. If you don't cry, (male or female) your heart is made of stone.
What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams is a sad one too!
Lars Von Trier makes some damn depressing movies. I was really bawling at the end of Dancer in the Dark.
I just saw a Dutch movie called The Black Book. It's the true story of a young Jewish woman who loses her entire family while fleeing the Nazis and then falls in with the Dutch Resistance - not normally my type of movie, but very moving and well acted and produced
a walk to remember! it's really sad.
