HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM
Best film by him in my view, with superb performances, good music and great locations.
I haven't seen KHAMOSHI The Musical [1996], but I can what I have seen:Black is the Best Movie.
i personally thnk sanjay leela bhansaali is a very intelligent filmmaker and he portrays emotions with beautiful ease and grace..and according to me parts of all films of his have a special significance..i lik hum dil de chuke sanam...but i thnk black needs a special reference as that story is splendid!!

HDDCS, bcas the female character is torn between her heart and duty or the world placed restrictions.
ofcourse her husband is her true love, she loses her love for sameer in the middle when she realises what a true man is all about but she expresses how she felt abt him o her husband it is psychological playing out of fears or notions which u thght wld happen.perhaps it is the way sameer reacts when he sees her witht any seriousness which made her see the difference and make a good choice. for sameer she is only a good person he met but for vanraj she is his heart

hum dil dechuke sanam was my fev of them all
and saawariya is least fev, god what was it about???it was like watching a never ending play, so depressing.

None of them. I wonder who is foolish enough to produce his movies. All are based on a previous English or Hindi movie. He is a better actor than the two in Saawariya.
BLACK is too gud. its actually based on HELEN KELLER'S story.

khamoshi & black were gud films as it had xcellent performances..devdas & hum dil de chuke sanam had good music,huge sets...so best films are khamoshi & black....
HUM DIL De CUKE SANAM
hdlcs because it was the most original of his movies. tHE other ones were copies although they were good too. Very different from the movies of that time.
i would say that devdas because it had shahrukh which added more energy and the power of his acting that it so it could be a hit.
and then black then HDDCS but i hated the ending!
THEN KHAMOSHI
and the most flop movie of his is saawariya!

where as i haven't add Khamoshi because , i haven't seen it .
But his least performance goes in Sawariya .
Devdas... becoz everyone knows the story of devdas.
But sanjay has given it in a better way that every one liked it.The cast,sets,music,dance,performance everything are made the audience to look into the devdas.

No doubt that Sanjay L. Bhansali is one of the most intelligent and superb young director of the new generation.
he prove his metal with his work. If you think from pure commercial point of view and a typical bollywood film no doubt that HDDCS is the best ever film by Bhansali, but on other hand if you want see some serious cinema, you may go with Hansel's Black, Black is not a typical bollywood movie but it was Bhansali who did a splendid job, and give Bollywood a new idea of story. Overall, HDDCS and Black are the best films by Bhansali
