stay away from schindlers list, the colour purple, the pianist etc watch lighthearted stuff that's good quality comedy like ferris buellers day off.
Pay It Forward, Lorenzo's Oil, Stepmom.
The only movie that ever made me cry was "My Dog Skip"...I know...I'm a nerd.

it's a wonderful life made me cry buckets and buckets i watered the garden afterwards,
any of the carry on films are good, they are aged but they make me laugh, but my fav ones are laurel and hardy ones.
if you dont fancy a film, depending on your age, some stand up comics, lee evans, roy chubby brown.
