Best thriller/horror director ?!

Question: Hitchcock was the true master. North By Northwest, Psycho, The Birds etc, gave you chills even it is tame by today's standards. It was the simply story lines and eerie music, that made his work the best by far. He showed that you don't have to have lots of guts and blood to have a scary movie (Texas Chainsaw makers take note).

Wes Craven and his Scream trilogy was a unique idea and of course, spawned a million parodies and copycats. He, along with Tarantino are probably in the front row when it comes to modern day horrors, although, the idea of a horror movie has changed over the years.

Lastly, the makers of the SAW franchise have stumbled upon something very popular, however nightmarish. I give them points for originality although, i think I'll stay away from those flicks :/

Alfred Hitchcock. Modern day great John Landis

Rob Zombie, he has been making some killer movies lately. He is very unique and crazy ....

tarrintino

Wes Craven why not?

Wes Craven - he's also a very intelligent and articulate person if you ever see him interviewed on one of those DVD extras. I remember seeing a documentary about him at the end of a DVD (can't remember which one), but I was spellbound listening to his philosophy and outlook on making horror/thrillers.

Hitchcock was in a league of his own - his films aren't horror or thriller, they're Hitchcockian!

Wes Craven or John Carpenter
